Everyone stops for a train
I’m Eddie. I grew up in Doncaster, a stone’s throw from the East Coast Main Line, and I’ve never really stopped looking down the track since. My grandad Wilf worked the signal box, and he’s the one who taught me the ritual: a flask of strong tea, a rubber-banded notebook, and the long wait for the short moment.
Lineside started from one simple truth: everyone stops for a train. Steam, diesel, modern, model or metro — the pull is universal, and the hobby’s nothing to be sheepish about. I’m no steam purist either; nothing beats a Deltic howling up the ECML. Whatever stops you, you’re welcome at the lineside.
Every design is original art. I celebrate by livery, running number and silhouette — never a builder’s logo, a TOC roundel or a licensed name. You’ll know the loco the moment you see it; I just won’t print the badge.
Everything’s made to order and shipped from a local distributor near you — printed on demand, sent from close by, so nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing goes to waste.
Still keep a notebook. Still can’t cross a bridge without looking down the line.
See you at the lineside, Eddie.
